Mechanical failure derails Ross Bailes at Carolina Speedway during Shrine Race

For the Gaston County Shrine Race, Ross Bailes raced at Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, N.C.) on Friday afternoon with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.

With 16 Late Models on the grounds, Bailes qualified second-fastest and would start on the outside pole of the $4,000-to-win main event. Running inside the Top-3, Ross broke a rear end with just 12 laps to go. He was scored 10th.
