Ross Bailes ninth in Volunteer 50 at Volunteer Speedway
On Friday afternoon, Ross Bailes checked into Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the first night of the unsanctioned-Volunteer 50 weekend.
Stopping the clock fifth-quickest in his group, Ross started and finished fifth in the 25-lap preliminary feature.
Locked into Saturday's $50,050-to-win main event, Bailes slipped back to 14th early in the 50 lapper but rallied to finish inside the Top-10 in ninth.
