Ross Bailes tackles World 100 with Norm Nichols crew at Eldora Speedway
Making the long haul from South Carolina, Ross Bailes piloted the Norm Nichols-owned No. 5 BWRC ICON at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday afternoon for the 53rd-running of the World 100.
With the whopping 102-car field split into two groups, Ross finished seventh in his heat race but was unable to crack the A-Main field after a fifth-place outing in his Last Chance Showdown.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Bailes grabbed the final transfer position in the fourth Last Chance Showdown which placed him towards the back of the $12,000-to-win prelim. With only 25-laps to make up ground, Ross recorded a 22nd-place finish.
Rolling off ninth in Saturday's third heat race, Bailes was relegated to a Last Chance Showdown where he would miss an A-Main transfer spot, ending his weekend early.
