Fourth-place outing at Screven Motor Speedway in Norm Nichols No. 5
Making another start behind the wheel of the Norm Nichols-owned No. 5 machine, Ross Bailes traveled to Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader weekend with the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals.
Among 27 Late Models on site, Ross laid down the second-fastest lap in qualifying before dueling Bryson Harper in his heat race for the victory. Losing sight of the leader in the $10,053-to-win feature, Ross battled for a podium position in the closing laps but was forced to settle for a fourth-place outing. He trailed Zack Mitchell, Chris Ferguson, and Donald McIntosh while Kenny Collins completed the Top-5.
Sunday's Southern Nationals event at Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Ga.) was postponed due to heavy rain showers.
