Bailes weathers rough weekend at Eldora Speedway
On Thursday afternoon, Ross Bailes unloaded the Billy Hicks Racing No. 79 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream weekend.
With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, Bailes missed the set up in qualifying but made up two spots in his heat race. In the Last Chance Showdown, Ross fell just short of transferring to a preliminary feature with a third-place finish.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Ross stopped the clock fourth-quickest in qualifying but faded in his heat race to finish 11th. Despite a charge in his Last Chance Showdown, Bailes was unable to crack into a preliminary feature.
Being buried in his stacked heat race, Bailes was a scratch for Saturday's finale.
