Bailes fourth in Stick Elliot Memorial at Cherokee Speedway
Staying close to home this weekend, Ross Bailes made the trip to Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) on Friday afternoon for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Buck Simmons Memorial.
With 29 Late Models checked in, Bailes picked up the victory in his heat race which put him on the sixth-row for the main event. In the $7,500-to-win feature, Ross was an early retiree and was scored 16th.
On Saturday, the Billy Hicks Racing team traveled to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the second event of the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series doubleheader weekend.
With a sixth-place qualifying effort putting him on the third-row in the $5,000 feature, Ross gained two positions to land a fourth-place finish.
