Pair of Top 10 finishes in USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway

On Thursday afternoon Ross Bailes and the Big Frog Motorsports team made the trek to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) to take part in the 33rd annual USA Nationals weekend. Drawing 46 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Bailes followed up the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind Jimmy Owens with a runner-up finish in his heat. Starting the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature in seventh, Ross dropped one spot in the 30-lapper to place eighth. (Todd Boyd photo)

1The following night for two rounds of heat races, Ross dropped two spots in his first round to finish ninth. Starting his second heat in third, Bailes held his spot for all 10-laps to place third. Being picked as a driver to compete for the $2,500-to-win Fans Fund Dash, Ross scored a third place finish. Sitting 35th overall in passing points based off his heat results, Bailes transferred into the B-Main on Saturday night for one last shot at the $50,000-to-win finale.

Falling shy of a transfer spot in his consolation event, Bailes was granted a FANSFund provisional USA Nationals A-Main. Rolling off 27th, Ross Bailes advanced through the field 17 spots to register a 10th place finish.
