August 13, 2021 - Last-lap pass lifts Ross Bailes at Carolina Speedway
1Friday night found Ross Bailes in action at Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, N.C.) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Gaston County Shrine Race. With time trials results aligning the starting grid for the feature, Ross clocked in fourth fastest overall. After a handful of cautions slowed the 40-lapper, Bailes was in contention for the top spot late in the race as race-long pacesetter battled through lapped-traffic. Making a pass for the lead on the final circuit, Ross soared to his sixth win of the season over Brett Hamm, Benji Hicks, Michael Brown, and Derrick Ramey. He finished 0.141 seconds ahead of Hamm to pocket $4,000.

Saturday's Carolina Clash scheduled event at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) fell victim to Mother Nature.
