May 21, 2020 - Ross Bailes Begins Lucas Oil Reopening Tour at Golden Isles
1Making his 2020 debut behind the wheel of the Lamm Autosports No. 1B Big River Steel Late Model, Ross Bailes traveled to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on Tuesday evening for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Reopening Tour. With 43 cars on hand for the Optima Batteries Golden Isles Nationals, Ross timed in 11th fastest in his qualifying group before placing eighth in his heat race. 1The following night for another $7,000-to-win A-Main, Bailes posted a ninth place finish in his heat, transferring him into the B-Main for one last shot at the show. Failing to place third or better, Ross’ night was over.

For the final round of the Golden Isles Nationals on Thursday, Ross fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Scoring a second place spot in his B-Main behind Stormy Scott, Bailes locked into the 19th-starting position for the $7,000-to-win finale. Gaining one spot in the 40-lap affair, Ross Bailes logged an 18th place outing.

May 7, 2020 - Bailes Lands Sixth Place Finish at Senoia Raceway
1 On Thursday evening Ross Bailes made the trip to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) powering the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 Late Model entry for the DirtonDirt.com Shootout. Drawing a stout field of 43 cars, Bailes followed up the seventh fastest lap in time trials with a second place finish in his heat behind Dalton Cook. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in 14th, Ross gained eight spots in the 40-lap affair to register a sixth place finish. (Blake Harris photo)

May 2, 2020 - Runner-up Finish in Lidlifter at Lancaster Speedway
1With several precautionary measures in place to bring the event to fruition during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ross Bailes returned behind the wheel of his Felony Farms No. 87 Late Model on Friday night at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, S.C.) for the Lancaster Lidlifter. In a field of 25 cars, Bailes topped the charts in time trials which positioned him on the pole for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. After leading the first three circuits, Ross faded back to a second place finish when the checkered flag flew, trailing Brandon Overton across the line with Jonathan Davenport, Michael Brown, and Jeff Smith rounding out the Top-5. 1The following night at Cherokee (SC) Speedway for the inaugural Palmetto Invitational, Ross timed in ninth fastest in his qualifying group before placing fourth in his heat. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 13th, Bailes gained five spots in the 60-lap affair to register an eighth place finish.
