July 25, 2020 - Top 5 finish at 411 Motor Speedway, finishes third in points battle
1Ross Bailes returned with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals on Tuesday evening on Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) for the ninth round of the 12-race miniseries. Laying down the fastest lap overall in a field of 26 cars, Bailes locked into the pole position for the opening night feature. After jumping out to an early race lead, Ross made contact with a lapped-car on lap 14 while navigating through the field that sent him to the tail. He marched forward to salvage an eighth place outing.

After a scheduled off day on Wednesday night, Ross traveled to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Thursday for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. With the Top 5 qualifiers getting locked into the feature, Bailes posted the second fastest lap in his group behind Brandon Overton, which positioned him fourth on the starting grid. Getting taken out by another competitor near the halfway point of the feature while battling for second, Ross came from the tail of the field to finish sixth.

1On Friday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), Bailes followed up the third fastest time in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Cory Hedgecock. For the final stop of the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals tour, Ross invaded Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) on Saturday night for the $10,053-to-win finale. After topping the 22-car field in time trials, Bailes streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the show. With a flat tire slowing his momentum on lap 18, Ross Bailes salvaged a 12th place outing in the 53-lap affair.

Ross finished third in the final Schaeffer's Southern Nationals point standings.

July 19, 2020 - Pair of podium finishes at Screven and Cochran, sits in third in Southern Nationals point standings
1For the third round of the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals, Ross Bailes and the Big Frog Motorsports team headed to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Monday afternoon for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. 1The following night at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.), Bailes locked into the pole position for the main event with the fastest time in his group. With $3,500 on the line, Ross led the first seven circuits before fading late in the 35-lapper to log a 12th place finish.

After a scheduled off day on Wednesday, Ross headed to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) on Thursday afternoon for the fifth stop of the 12-race miniseries. Drawing a stout field of 35 cars, Bailes locked his spot into the $3,500-to-win A-Main with the third fastest time in his group. After a flat left-rear tire sent him pit side on lap 27 while running in the Top 5, Bailes clawed back from the tail to register an 11th place outing.

On Friday evening at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.), Bailes laid down the fastest lap overall in a field of 27 cars before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. With $10,053 on the line in the feature, Ross wrestled away the top spot from Donald McIntosh on lap 11 but suffered flat right-front tire on lap 20. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish from the tail, Bailes worked his way up to a sixth place spot.

1For another $10,053-to-win A-Main on Saturday night at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.), Ross again topped the speed charts before capturing a heat race win. Dropping two spots in the 53-lap affair, Bailes notched a third place finish behind Brandon Overton and Mark Whitener with Chris Madden and Cla Knight completing the Top-5 finishers.

On Sunday afternoon at Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Ga.), Bailes locked into the pole position with the fastest time in the 21-car field. Losing the top spot to Brandon Overton on restart on the fourth lap, Ross held on to a third place finish in the remaining distance, trailing Overton and Chris Madden across the line with Michael Page and John Baker rounding out the Top-5.

July 11, 2020 - Ross Bailes opens Southern Nationals with two Top 5 finishes
1Kicking off the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals, Ross Bailes headed to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday evening piloting the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 Late Model. In a field of 35 cars, Ross laid down the fastest lap overall in time trials before picking up an 8-lap heat race victory. July 4, 2020 - Bailes bags a pair of runner-up finishes with Ultimate SE
1On Friday evening Ross Bailes was one of 26 Ultimate Southeast Series entries on hand at Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) for the Charlie Mize Memorial. Recording the third fastest time in his group, Bailes locked into the fifth-starting position for the $4,141-to-win A-Main. Passing three cars in the 41-lap affair, Ross notched a runner-up finish behind Zack Mitchell with Brent Dixon, Chris Ferguson, and Cla Knight rounding out the Top-5.

1The following night at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.), Ross posted the third fastest time in his group, which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the A-Main.
