August 15, 2020 - Bailes attends North/South weekend at Florence Speedway
1Behind the wheel of the Lamm Autosports No. 1 Late Model, Ross Bailes invaded Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) on Wednesday night for the 34th annual Ralph Latham Memorial. With 53 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries registered in for action, Bailes fell short of a transfer position in his heat with a seventh place finish, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking in the Top 2, Ross logged a 10th place outing.

On Thursday afternoon for the North/South Shootout, Ross followed up the seventh fastest time in his group with a fifth place finish in his heat. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Bailes came two spots short with a fourth place finish.

Starting Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 in 16th, Ross rebounded to finish 17th after visiting the infield hot pit several times throughout the 100-lapper.

August 8, 2020 - Pair of Top 10 finishes in USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway
1On Thursday afternoon Ross Bailes and the Big Frog Motorsports team made the trek to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) to take part in the 33rd annual USA Nationals weekend. Drawing 46 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Bailes followed up the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind Jimmy Owens with a runner-up finish in his heat. Starting the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature in seventh, Ross dropped one spot in the 30-lapper to place eighth.

1The following night for two rounds of heat races, Ross dropped two spots in his first round to finish ninth. Starting his second heat in third, Bailes held his spot for all 10-laps to place third. Being picked as a driver to compete for the $2,500-to-win Fans Fund Dash, Ross scored a third place finish. Sitting 35th overall in passing points based off his heat results, Bailes transferred into the B-Main on Saturday night for one last shot at the $50,000-to-win finale. (Todd Boyd photo)

Falling shy of a transfer spot in his consolation event, Bailes was granted a FANSFund provisional USA Nationals A-Main. Rolling off 27th, Ross Bailes advanced through the field 17 spots to register a 10th place finish.

August 1, 2020 - Bailes sails to Stick Elliott Memorial victory at Cherokee
1Ross Bailes claimed his second win of the season for Big Frog Motorsports on Saturday night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C.

Driving the M&W Transport No. 58 Dave’s Towing/ Fred Caldwell Chevrolet/ Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model, Bailes net $4,000 for his victory in the Stick Elliott Memorial.

In a field of 25 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series entries, Bailes secured his spot into the main event with the fourth fastest lap overall in qualifying.

Starting the main event in fourth, Ross overtook race leader Michael Brown on a lap 12 restart. He then led the remaining distance to capture his second win of the year in the No. 58 Big Frog Motorsports entry and third overall of the season. Bailes took the checkers ahead of Chris Ferguson, Michael Brown, Dennis Franklin, and Anthony Sanders.

"I kept trying to work the top on those restarts and couldn’t make it stick, but I finally got a good run. I hate I got into Chris on that one restart. I thought I had him cleared,” Bailes said. "Hopefully our luck’s turned around. We’re going to go to Wisconsin and race for 50 grand next week (at New Richmond's Cedar Lake Speedway).”
